Excellent Resource!

This text is great. The field of statistics can seem very overwhelming at first and I didn't know which book to choose to get started. This book lays it out perfectly. It not only presents all the formulas and calculations you will need, but also applies them to everyday examples in the field, and is very easy to understand from a beginner's level. I recommend this text to anyone who is interested in the application of statistics in the medical field; moreover, why we use statistics to make scientific conclusions in the first place.

User friendly and easy to understand

As a medical student who has been required to use many statistic textbooks, I found this biostatistic book to be particularly helpful. It was well organized and allowed me to find the necessary information quickly. I also appreciated the fact that concepts were explained in a concise way with numerous clinical examples. I recommend this book to any medical student who is looking for a user-friendly statistic textbook.

A must read for medical students and personnel broadly

From start to finish Dr. Dawson engages the reader in a practical easy read journey in what is a very or can be a very complex and relatively dry subject matter. The author uses excellent real life anecdotal (some medical some not) examples to help the reader visualize the concepts being conveyed. I think many people would be intimidated by the subject matter at first glance. However, this book provides the baseline statistical principles education in a easy to read, and yes even fun at times, way that is core to so many decisions and investments in the world of medicine that I believe it should be a mandatory read for anyone in the medical field broadly.
