A Stellar Finish for the Gospel According to St. Bourne

I struggle to declare this final installment of Ludlum's masterful trilogy the best of them, but I will not hesitate to conclude that it was the most hilarious! Yup, the comedy was a plus towards the intertwining journeys of Jason's many foes and friends. It made the entire adventure less agonizing and more welcoming to plow through. This final arc of the famous chameleon was definitely a ride to wait for. With powerful storytelling, despite the overdrawn formula of intense detail, fulfilling action, and a plethora of surprises to verify those, unfortunately, already verified gaps, this ultimatum, the gospel according to St. Bourne, was still a stellar finale.

Henry's Q&A Review Book is good

The Review Manual to the 20th Edition of Henry's Clinical Diagnosis and Management by Laboratory Methods is a good review of the book. It does, however, like most books have problems that may be addressed in future editions.

The biggest problem is that Clinical pathology boards usually get most of the questions from Henry's or Robbins pathology books with a multiple choice type format. The only problem with this book is that it has fill in the blank type questions which are more difficult and doesnt offer a differential in which to think about. That is the weakness of the book in that the explanations are not involved and their is no differential thinking that you would have with multiple choices. For example why is the answer B and not A with explanations.

The book does cover Henry's which in of itself is a feat. Henry's is difficult to read and much of the technical jargon is not explained so the Q&A book reflects some of these shortcomings.

Best complement for Henry's

I find the new Review Manual the best complement for "Henry's..." moreover if you want to prepare for a "pathologist" exam or even if you only want to improve your lab skills. The Review Manual focuses on the most important things you have to know and remember of each area (Microbiology, Hematology, Biochemistry...)

Very useful for a student. Remember, it's not a real study guide but if you are capable of complete all the units and answer all the question you will have learned a lot about Clinical Lab and you will have developed a kind of "mental guide"!!

Drawbacks...Better explanations about the answers in the multiple choice questions...and of course, more, more, questions!!!

    the worst textbook ever

    This book is poorly written. It suffers from a clear lack of editing as it contains numerous typos, grammatical errors, and flat out contradictions. Not to mention the sheer volume of factually incorrect information in the text, The book is needlessly repetitive having multiple chapters over the same subjects when a few pages would have been more that sufficient. The glossary at the end of the book is out of order in numerous places. Many of the abbreviations in the appendix in the back are wrong.

    Did I mention how poorly written this book is? It is terrible.

    Even though the rest of the class had the latest edition, I always buy the next older edition. I found that all of the info was present in this little book and I saved a gad of money. HIghly recommend!

    This is an awesome study on how to be the man God intended you to be. Our church is going through the study now. I would suggest that if you are going to do this on your own, that you purchase the DVD along with it. The DVD is an amazing study in itself and adding this book to it will allow you to complete those fill in the blanks to better understand Tony's points and provide an overview through the study.
    Be aware, that this book will only be as good and the effort you put into it, there are daily readings and questions to answer. Truth is required here and it can almost be a "journal" of where you are at with God.

    Classical text in molecular immunology

    I am familiar with this textbook since the 3rd edition. I consider this textbook one of the leading (if not the best) for the field of molecular immunology. The organization and structure of chapters differs from those in, for example, Janeway's Immunobiology, but this falls into personal preference and needs. This book is food for undergraduates, graduates and professionals who want to learn immunology from more biological and less clinical perspective. I work in cancer research, however I use this book frequently - it is very useful to get info related to different aspects of cancer research: immunotherapy, immunobiology of tumors, tumor microenvironment, etc. In addition, this textbook is one of the most affordable books. After bying the book, one can use the book's website, where it is possible, for example, to download images, which is very practical for presentations.

    Everything you need and more

    I was very glad that my undergraduate course in Immunology chose this textbook, because it has all you need to know and more to understand Immunology. A lot of my classmates and I found the text to be hard to read due to the fact that the material is very detailed and condensed, but the book is very well-laid out and describes the immune system well despite the inherent complexities involved. You might have to work hard to tie things together, but that's just the nature of the material since it's so intertwined.

    All in all, my favorite textbook of my undergrad molecular biology curriculum so far.
