A Giant Among Us Who Has Influenced So Many

Dr. Kaufman is a renowned physician, neurologist and "true" teacher/ professor. Among the competencies in which he has expertise is the translation of the intricacies of Neurology to physicians in other specialties in such an enjoyable and enriching learning experience that it is widely acclaimed. He has written many editions of this book, among others and has taught an immensely popular course on the subject for 20-30 years; I hope he will continue to teach and write for another 20-30 years. You will fail without this book
By Be the Change You Wish to See
I just kicked butt on the Part I boards! I got nearly 100% on the Neurology portion of the exam, exclusively based on this book. 50% of people fail the boards the first time because of the neurology on the test. If you read this book and answer the questions, you will definitely pass. There are some reviews here that have various complaints about this book. I don't really know if this book will transform you into a top notch neurologist. All I know is that if you master the material in this book you will be very well prepared for the neurology portion of the boards. Not only this, but, I found the book to be quite a friendly and enjoyable read. I thought it was helpful to also purchase a Neurology atlas to have better pictures than what is provided in the book. I personally got Netter's Neurology, which I found to be plus/minus. I don't know if I would recommend Netter's Neurology but after shelling out all that dough, I didn't pursue another atlas, so I don't have anything better to recommend.

This is an excellent review book. It is well organized and is a complete review of all neurology needed for the Psychiatry Board Exams. It prepared me for the exams thoroughly. Excellent questions and answers at the end of each chapter. I highly recommend this textbook.
