awesome study

I can honestly say that I have loved this bible study. Along with the video it has been amazing. I am not a fan of Kay's "active reading" strategies. All the underlining, circling, and highlighting was not my preferred method of study, but I know some of the women in our group liked it and she is an awesome speaker and writes a great bible study. The daily studies were short, but powerful. Great for people who want to do a bible study, but think they can't make the time. Of course bible study isn't something we are supposed to watch the clock on. :) I have been a big fan of Beth Moore for a long time now, but think I may have a new favorite in Pricilla!

Not the Quality I've Come to Expect from These Women

I was disappointed by this study. Kay, Beth, and Priscilla are wonderful Bible teachers and I've taken a few from both Kay and Priscilla, and almost all of Beth's. This "study" fell short. It should not have been made from a conference into a study because the material just isn't there. They forced material into all already completed conference.
At the beginning of the book, a statement is made that Kay wrote her portion of the homework, but Beth and Priscilla did not.
Pros:
All three women had interesting and decent DVD segments.
Kay's homework was biblically based.
Cons:
Beth's and Priscilla's homework was terrible. Sorry to use that word in the same sentence as these two gifted women, but the questions were bad. To give you an idea, here is a typical feel of the repetitive type of questions: have you ever felt God moving in your life? How did you feel about this? Have you ever sensed this in a friend's life? When did God not come through when you wish He had?...How can you give thanks about this?....and the pain goes on and on....
Our Bible study group tried to make the best of it, but many simply left the questions blank. I will not recommend this study to anyone. The DVDs yes, but the workbook, no. Other reviewers ranked this a "5" star. Why? All three teachers DO have NUMEROUS 5-star studies. This is not one of them.

Great Renewal

I purchased this book and also downloaded the video as referenced in the book. While it is suggested as a group bible study, I found it to be a great study for someone who is just interested in renewal or just getting to understand the bible.
I used it as a daily study to force myself to make personal bible study on my list so I would read and watch a video. Each of the speakers are different and bring to the study their own unique story but overall they make you want to renew your learning. The fact that you are able to take your own bible and follow the text and the study questions are their to seriously make you think about the subject. Everything is all laid out for you but it does allow you to actual study on your own. If you do it in a group you will find possible mixed opinions about some finding as I did when dicussing with friends but for the most part they are good starter questions and will allow you to have a great study if doing a group. You can take it to where you want to go with it. This is like a basic outline to start with.
I enjoyed each author and for those who are visual learners you can go reference site and download audio/viedo at a small price. I have shared my copies with my daughter who is a young adult just getting to study the bible on her own and for her she said it was a great study.
Note if you are one of those looking for really deep theology this is not for you. This study is a very good "let's have a bible study" it has everything you need to get started. Your knowledge will be increased and you will begin a journey toward wanting to study more. Enjoyed it.
