Excellent text introducing the medical records profession

I used the 2nd edition of this textbook for a college class in Medical Records. I'm tempted to get the 3rd edition, as the 2nd is a wonderful text, and I'm in the process of seeking employment in this exciting, fast-changing field. This is a fairly comprehensive introduction "to health information technology both as a work-based, task oriented function and as a part of a larger profession of health information management." It is well-organized, presented in logical steps, incorporates many useful exercises throughout the chapters to check comprehension, and provides additional reading, works cited and web references. The instructor material is excellent. I can't say too many positive things about this book; I was challenged to work hard, and I loved the experience of learning this book provided. Kudos to its authors.

Awesome I learned a lot

We had to have this for a college course this past summer and besides the fact we had a 3 chapter test every week. I learned a lot and it was easy for me to remember the information and understood it. It just clicked for me. No writing notes just reading the chapters every night for a week. I have a learning disability and I dont do well on test, but let me tell ya every test I scored was a high B. End of the semester I passed with a B. I'm glad my advisor/program director wanted us to use this book. I also remember things that I was taught in other books in my other semesters.
